A recent commission, this impressionistic landscape was intended to have an "Italian" feel but reflect some of the Kiskel's ideas and wishes. The view of a distant farm house, nestled in the foot hills of mountains sounded wonderful to paint.  With the Kiskel's and pets in the foreground, it makes the "Kiskel Villa" dream, feel a little closer to coming true.  The painting is 5' X 4' in Acrylic.

The life of a Creative person can be a tenuous balance. We make and create but also rest and relax. More experienced adventurers will understand the back and forth of creative energy. Sometimes we need to recharge that psychic juice. Give ourselves time to organize and reorganize our plan of action. How do you find balance? The working artist has a limited amount of time to spend acquiring new skills or knowledge not specific to their art. Anyone who’s ever created anything knows how much time, energy, money, emotion, thought, blood, sweat and even tears we invest in our work. Continuing from my last post… what exactly are The Field and The Domain? For a quick recap, Fields are the groups of people who inhabit Domains of knowledge. For example: I love the Domain of Painting and Art; and the Field of Painters and Artists. See the difference? A Domain is the Arena and the Field are the People that play in that Arena. So, who are these people in our fields of interest and what do we get from them?? Well, first we get Training. Once we find the mentors we need to take our visions to the next levels, we learn from them. Education keeps us moving forward, sharpening our minds and creative lives as we incorporate new skills. I'm grateful to have had parents that instilled a deep love of learning. Life is a long journey and the more you learn about what interests you creatively, the better your work will become.
