I've been talking with Creators about their Process, here's what they're saying.

Hello fellow artists, readers and guests. Over the past several months I've been conducting interview and informal conversations with artists, creatives and people that seem to accomplish their short term creative goals with success. Let me tell you, the amount of feedback on the state of the modern artist is tremendous.
Putting aside the axiom of persistence getting us where we want to go, eventually, I asked fellow creators if they had any effective strategies for improving performance on longer-term creative projects? We all want to see our creative projects through to some level of completion and we want the highest quality available, affordable or capable. But not everyone gets their projects to the "finish line." What's the big secret? Why are some of us creating portfolios of work and others aren't?
From the horses mouth, simply put, just start. Yup, literally just 'Do it'. Get things going, over and over again. Start as early as possible and give yourself permission to walk away, but come back to the project. This is what creators are saying and it sounds a little too easy, I know. Just start? Yes, then stop, take a break, let your mind meander. The organic process of creation is built on infinite breaths in and out. The natural Yin to Yang, back and forth to creating art is like breathing life into a work as it's manifested into reality, breath by breath. Like blowing up a giant balloon, we need to take a break at some point or we'll pass out.
If there is a 'trick' anywhere in this simple direction it's probably how to know when to take a break. When can you give yourself permission to walk away for a day, a week, or year even? Yes, I did ask this very question to many professional artists and the general consensus was... "you just know". Since the creation process is mainly failures sprinkled with tiny bits of success, we can take our pick as to when it's time to take a break. But the best strategy for long term creative performance is to start, everyday, over and over again. Even if we can only spend a few minutes gnawing away at the project, it's better than no minutes.
We don't eat an apple in one bite. That's not really possible and that would kind of ruin the point of the apple.  As artists and creative people, our art can force us to take many tiny bites out of the apple, everyday, over and over, till one day we'll have just a few bites left.  How long did it take? Does it matter? We might even miss the apple at this point remembering the journey it took us on. Such a treat. What delicious training for the next creative apple we'll consume.

Thanks for reading! If you have a question of your own or would like to submit a question for me to ask the greater artistic community, please email me! I love all comments, questions and quips. BrandonRossProductions@gmail.com
