Spaceman (or Major Tom as we nicknamed him) is a unique large scale rod puppet that's operated by 7 puppeteers and roves around events blowing people's freakin' minds!!! He is supported by a steel costumized cart is inspired by NASA's Lunar Rover which we lovingly call "Tilton". A 16 foot steel crane arm extends from Tilton and supports Spaceman on his journey as he jumps around town. Oh and did we mention there's a gosh darn laser light show in his visor!? Give him a high five... trust me it'll be worth your while. The Workshop 320 N. Highland Ave. 30307 Artists in Residence - Julia Hill, Brandon Ross, Caroline Smith, Cara Gilbert and Bob Bateman       After months, really years, of looking for a new work space... we've finally found a home.  Located in the heart of Inman Park.  For over 30 years, "Villa de Grip" has been workshop and home base for Tony Kuppersmith, one of Atlanta's most established production designers for the film industry.  After Tony's recent semi-retirement, we were given the opportunity to move in, setup shop and offer our services to Atlanta.  We are so grateful for this opportunity.  A special home for Imaginary Menagerie Puppets, a secure and comfortable space for our tools and materials, and a chance to create some really amazing art.  We invite you to come check out the shop.  Come play on projects we're working on, volunteer time for experience and help spread the word.  The Workshop is here and making ...

             Here is something I'm truly proud of.  The final cut of the music video portion of the short film "Old Man Cabbage" directed by my good friend Raymond Carr.  When Ray asked me to step up and Production Design, I had self doubts.  We knew what we wanted to see on film and what sort of tone the film would have.  But I worried right up till shoot day, if we could set and dress our primary location... The Goat Farm Art Center in Atlanta, GA.  A few days of amazing work by our art and production team turned an incredibly dusty and dirty old room into our nightclub/speak-easy.  A big thanks to my art dept. team, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers and to Raymond for giving us the opportunity to create something we're all proud of.  

       First, so much thanks to the Center for Puppetry Arts, Micheal Haverty and XPT (Experimental Puppet Theater) and my amazing collaborator, Julia Hill!          After being accepted into the 2011 XPT showcase as the only art installation, Julia and I teamed up once again to create our most ambitious and unique creature to date. Over 3 months of planning, sketching, and experimenting with materials, we knew we wanted to create something we'd never seen before. Through trial and error, inspiration and injury (fiberglass hurts!), "Picasso" the gorilla was born.       "Picasso" is almost entirely constructed of fiberglass rods and "kite" connectors.  His skin is a light-weight fabric that is attached "panel by panel" to each quadrant.  His legs hide jumping stilts, allowing the puppeteer to jump and run.  We fabricated custom arm stilts that lock your arms into a comfortable position transferring ...
